| 20501644    | 2009 | Cell line : - Source : ATCC. Sample Type : - No. of Sample : - Stage : - | Recombinant Fc-EDA-A2 and Fc-FASL, Cell culture and transfections, qRT-PCR, Western blotting | Down-regulation | - | Extracellular NH(2) terminus of XEDAR protein was cleaved by a metalloproteinase and released into culture media. The remaining COOH-terminal membrane-anchored fragment was rapidly degraded through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway.
XEDAR as a direct p53 target that was frequently downregulated in colorectal cancer tissues due to its epigenetic alterations or through the p53 gene mutations. HEK293, HEK293T, U373MG, H1299, NCI-H716, and NHDF cell lines were used. |
| 19543321    | 2009 | Cell line : - Source : - Sample Type : CRC tumor and normal tissue No. of Sample : 12 Stage : - | Genome-wide expression profile. | Methylation | - | Promoter hypermethylation of the XEDAR gene was detected in 20 of 20 colorectal cancer cell lines and in 6 of 12 colorectal cancer tissues respectively. XEDAR is a putative tumor suppressor that could prevent malignant transformation and tumor progression by regulating apoptosis and anoikis. |

| Description | EDA-A1 and EDA-A2 are two isoforms of ectodysplasin that are encoded by the anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (EDA) gene. Mutations in EDA give rise to a clinical syndrome characterized by loss of hair, sweat glands, and teeth. The protein encoded by this gene specifically binds to EDA-A2 isoform. This protein is a type III transmembrane protein of the TNFR (tumor necrosis factor receptor) superfamily, and contains 3 cysteine-rich repeats and a single transmembrane domain but lacks an N-terminal signal peptide. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011]   | Chromosome | X |
